Tragic accident in Obernzenn: 83-year-old dies after collision with house wall

A tragic accident shook the small community of Obernzenn in Bavaria on Tuesday morning, March 18, 2025. At around 10:10 a.m., an 83-year-old driver collided with her Opel on state road 2143 near Oberaltenbernheim with a house wall. Passers -by and firefighters had to regret that the pensioner died directly at the scene of the accident despite immediate resuscitation measures.

The exact circumstances of the accident are so far unclear. Reports by Fireworld.at initially got onto the oncoming lane, where an oncoming truck grazed. A little later, the driver lost control of her vehicle and came off the street, drove a few meters across a meadow and finally hit a house wall with full force. The alarmed fire brigade of the local weirs from Oberaltenbernheim, Unteraltenbernheim, Unternzenn and Oberdachstetten were quickly on site to secure the site and to lock the road in both directions.

Investigations run

As reported by the Middle Franconia police headquarters in a statement, the accident is now examined by an expert in order to clarify the exact causes. Professional firefighters and police were quickly at the scene to take the necessary measures, but the tragic loss could not be prevented.
