Rummenigge: Football on the tilt - players have to whine less!

München, Deutschland - In an urgent appeal, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the chairman of the supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich, has urged professional footballers to rethink their constant complaints about high loads and salary claims. "Our players should stop complaining!", Explains Rummenigge, making it unequivocally clear that the financial expectations of the players cannot be met unlimited. In an interview with the Image he also warned of an impending crisis in the football industry if the development continues. "If this continues, football will be the only industry in the world that no longer makes profit, but only produces losses," added the 69-year-old.

The challenge through additional competitions

Rummenigge sees the problem in the growing loads through additional games, such as the upcoming club World Cup, which could possibly protrude into the preparation for the next season. "But a lot of money has to come from somewhere," he points out and asks the players to question their claims. "If a Bayern player would earn 15 million euros instead of 20 million’, that is still a lot of money with allegons, "says Rummenigge, who also appeals to the need for salary limits in European football.

The upcoming club World Cup in the summer of 2025 is highlighted as a new and big event that replaced the national team competition, the Confed Cup. Rummenigge sees both the introduction of this tournament and the current TV rights degree of the DFL as a "miracle of the world". The changes in football present the traditional markets and salary structures with great challenges, while at the same time the additional burdens for players are growing, which is not portable according to Rummenigge, as is Sport1 reported.
