Real Madrid: Pavard in sight! Who will be the new defense hero?

Real Madrid are urgently looking for reinforcements in defense following the injury-related loss of Dani Carvajal, who is out long-term with a torn cruciate ligament. Benjamin Pavard, the ex-Bayern star, is being discussed as a possible solution. The Madrilenians have been interested in Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold for weeks, but he is apparently not available as Liverpool want to make him a lucrative five-year offer worth around 94 million euros, as the “Krone” reported.

Benjamin Pavard in the focus of transfer speculation

Pavard, currently under contract with Inter Milan, could be targeted by Real Madrid. According to information from “FootballEuropa”, Pavard found his role as a central defender in Milan, but he previously showed his best performances as a right-back at FC Bayern. The 28-year-old has a three-year contract with Inter and a market value of 40 million euros. However, a move seems complicated as Inter show little interest in letting him go.

Real Madrid's staffing levels are at risk given Carvajal's injury. In addition to Pavard, there are also other options on the list, including the clubless Serge Aurier and Sevilla's Juanlu Sánchez, who could be considered for the Madrilenians. However, following recent developments, Los Blancos may have to wait and continue to evaluate their options in the winter market as the search for a suitable defender becomes more pressing.
