VfR Neuburg loses 1:3 in the relegation battle – referee causes trouble!

Pure drama in the relegation battle! VfR Neuburg lost 3-1 at TSV Ziemetshausen and missed an important step into the middle of the table. Peter Krzyzanowski, the interim coach and chairman of the VfR, is disappointed: “We didn’t put in our top performance,” he admits. However, the game's crucial moments were overshadowed by controversial refereeing decisions. In the 80th minute, VfR should have received a clear penalty - instead the decisive penalty fell to Ziemetshausen. A bitter turning point!

The game started promisingly for Neuburg, who took the lead with a header from Marcel Mehl in the 13th minute. But the joy was short-lived as Tarik Music equalized for Ziemetshausen in the 24th minute. The tension rose and the opportunities for both sides increased. But Neuburg missed a great opportunity to take the lead again when Philippe Bauer ran alone towards the goalkeeper and failed. Instead of 2-0, it was only 1-1 at halftime.

Referee decisions in focus

The second half was a moment of fate. Musik converted the controversial penalty in the 81st minute and made it 2-1. Just two minutes later he scored his hat trick and secured the decision. Krzyzanowski is frustrated: “It could have been a classic draw if the referee hadn’t intervened so often.” VfR also had to accept a yellow-red card in the 88th minute for Efekan Eroglu, who was fouled in the controversial scene before the penalty. With this defeat, VfR remains in 13th place, three points behind the saving bank. The pressure is increasing and the coming games promise to continue to be a tough fight to stay in the league.
