Coach change at SSV Ehingen-Süd: Bochtler goes, Ruiz comes!
Michael Bochtler will quit as coach of the association league team SSV Ehingen-Süd at the end of the season. His successor will be Kevin Ruiz, who comes from the club's own ranks. This decision marks the end of an era for Bochtler, who will no longer celebrate his tenth anniversary with the club as he would have had to stay a season longer SWP.de reported.
Bochtler took over the coaching position at SSV Ehingen-Süd in the summer of 2016 after Klaus Dorn resigned for family reasons. Bochtler was previously a coach at TSG Ehingen from 2012 to 2014 and, as a former professional, played 54 Bundesliga games for VfB Stuttgart and St. Pauli. Helmut Schleker, head of football at SSV Ehingen-Süd, described Bochtler as the ideal person for the club, which wants to establish itself at the top of the regional league. The team is currently in fourth place in the table with 35 points from 17 games Schwäbische.de reported.
Future developments
The decision to appoint Bochtler as coach came after several discussions with Schleker and also after discussions with two other coaches. The contract term has not been specified, but the collaboration is apparently intended to last several years. Bochtler, who currently looks after the TSF Ludwigsfeld, lives in Neu-Ulm and will see old companions like Gaetano Gaudio again. Gaudio, who played under Bochtler at TSG, describes him as a buddy type and a great expert with a penchant for offensive tactics.
