Miesbach's warm bath is becoming a construction site: it won't open until 2026!

The Miesbach construction site is in full swing! The Warmbad, a popular destination for swimming enthusiasts, will be transformed into a new oasis by 2026. However, the schedule has shifted dramatically: the renovation will last until November 2025, which means that the pool will remain closed next summer! The excavators are already at work and the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place next week. But the hope of a quick reopening has proven to be too optimistic.

“We have to accept reality,” explained Astrid Güldner, who represented Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller on the city council. The originally planned time frame called for the pool to remain closed in 2024 and to reopen in 2025, freshly renovated. But the construction work is dragging on, and the people of Miesbach now have to wait until the 2026 swimming season to jump into the new stainless steel pool. Engineers and architects have revised the construction schedule and construction has been set to begin at the end of October.

High costs for the renovation

The city of Miesbach expects total costs of over 6.5 million euros for the extensive renovation work. The city receives around 3.2 million euros from these costs as grants. But not all renovation work is eligible for funding, which is why the Warmbad support association continues to collect donations, especially for the area of small children. The first measures include the demolition of the technical building and the transformer house. There is great anticipation for the new hot pool, but the people of Miesbach still have to wait until it is finished!
