New CEO Mühleck impresses as a pink panther at the Wertheim trade fair run!
The newly elected CEO of the Kreuzwertheim company Kurtz Ersa, Thomas Mühleck, recently caused a stir when he competed in the Wertheim trade fair run in a pink panther costume. This is not just a joke, but an announcement to the employees and the community that he is ready to keep his promises. Mühleck, who was only officially inaugurated at the end of September, managed to lose his bet and then had to honor his challenge.
Mühleck had bet that his employees would not be able to mobilize more than 100 participants for the trade fair run. When 1,296 runners finally registered, including over 100 from the Kurtz Ersa team, the conditions were created for the bet to be lost. To the loud applause of the spectators, he accepted the challenge and started over the 4.5 kilometer route in his costume.
A shared experience
The Wertheim Fair Run has become a major event in the region, and Mühleck's appearance added a humorous and approachable touch to the occasion. Mühleck himself is an experienced runner and has competed in marathons in the past. Despite the unusual clothing, he completed the course in a respectable 38 minutes and 18.7 seconds, which placed him 220th in the men's overall standings.
Interestingly, the fastest runner of the day, Jonathan Laurin Erdniß, was also part of the Kurtz Ersa team and achieved a remarkable time of 15 minutes and 20 seconds. Mühleck's words “I stand by my word” spoke for his sportsmanship and his determination to be a part of the company that was entrusted to him.
While the Pink Panther costume caused a lot of excitement and laughter, Mühleck wasn't the only one in the spotlight. Alexander Ückert, plant manager of Johns Manville in Wertheim, ran alongside him as a firefighter, which added an interesting dynamic to the event. The picture of the two who crossed the finish line side by side shows that values such as team spirit and joy in sport are also crucial in competition.
The Wertheimer Messelauf was not only a sporting event, but also an opportunity to bring the community together. It remains to be seen what other surprises the company's future events will have in store and whether Mühleck will offer his team further creative challenges.
