Volunteering in Lichtenfels: Help wanted for 14-year-old student from Ethiopia!
There are numerous volunteers in the Lichtenfels district who bring joy with their actions and at the same time are personally enriched. There are over 400 of these “active citizens” and they contribute to society through their voluntary work in institutions such as senior centers, kindergartens, schools, as well as in refugee aid or at the food bank. Each of these committed people can decide individually how much time they would like to invest and has the option of ending their commitment at any time.
There is currently a particular focus on supporting a 14-year-old student from Ethiopia who has been living in Lichtenfels since the end of 2023 and is attending the 8th grade at the Herzog Otto School. The young man urgently needs help learning German in order to be able to integrate better and successfully cope with everyday school life. The “Active Citizens” are still looking for volunteers who are willing to help for around two hours a week. If necessary, they provide necessary materials such as books and worksheets.
