Erding starts construction of a modern children's house for 100 children!
In Erding, the city council has approved the construction of a new children's home. This happened under the leadership of Mayor Max Gotz, who pushed the decision forward in the planning and building committee. The new building will be built at Ludwig-Simmet-Anger 2 and is intended to expand the local infrastructure for early childhood care.
The planned children's home will be specially designed to care for up to 100 children. It takes on the task of offering four groups for small children as well as additional facilities such as a crèche and a daycare center. What is particularly noteworthy is that a cafeteria will be part of the project, which will not only provide meals for the children in the new building, but also for the neighboring elementary school. The plan is to operate in a three-shift system, which means the cafeteria can feed up to 460 children per day.
Sustainability and modern equipment
When it comes to sustainability, the children's home stands out thanks to its innovative construction and energy concepts. The entire new building is heated with a groundwater heat pump, which is an environmentally friendly heating solution. This technology uses the heat of groundwater to efficiently control the temperature of interior spaces.
In addition, a photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof. This means that 51 percent of the electricity generated can be used for personal consumption, which further improves the building's ecological balance. This shows the city's commitment to the sustainable and future-oriented design of public facilities.
The total cost of the project, including the outdoor facilities, which include a garden with a play area, trees and seating, was estimated at 15.6 million euros. The children's home should be completed and ready for occupancy by the end of 2025. This development is an important step towards improving care options for families in the region and is intended to help meet the increasing demand for early childhood education in Erding. The city of Erding is thus strengthening its position as a child and family-friendly community.
