The toilets on German highways are a hot topic! A current ranking by the Rental Car Check portal took a close look at the sanitary facilities and the results are shocking: two of the worst motorway toilets in Germany are in Franconia! The Riedener Wald West service area and the Rhön Ost gas station, both along the A7, only received a pitiful 1.1 out of 5 possible points. One euro fee for dirty, smelly and even broken toilets? This causes massive dissatisfaction!
The ranking shows that the toilets in Lower Franconia are anything but inviting. The rest stop near Hausen and the gas station near Schondra are on the list of the worst-rated toilets. Users are frustrated: “In particular, the fee of one euro despite poor hygiene is annoying when going to the toilet,” says Rental Car Check. But how meaningful is this ranking really? The ratings are based on just 15 reviews for the Rhön Ost gas station and only 14 for the Riedener Wald West service station, while other toilets have several hundred reviews. Comparability here is more than questionable!
