Forsthaus Klaushof in Bad Kissingen: Tradition meets new pleasures!
The Forsthaus Klaushof in Bad Kissingen shines in new splendor! After a brief closure, the traditional restaurant reopened its doors a week ago. The couple Jan Kirchhof and Michaela Albert-Kirchhof, the new tenants, have brought a breath of fresh air into the historic site. “Good Franconian cooking has always been done here,” emphasizes Kirchhof, and it is precisely this tradition that they want to continue, while at the same time setting new accents.
Guests can look forward to a completely new ambience! The forester's house, once known as accommodation for forestry workers, has developed into a popular destination for hikers and families. “We combine traditional dishes with modern accents,” explains Kirchhof. The menu changes seasonally and offers meat and fish dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan options. For those who are thirsty, there is a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, regional beers and fine wines. Exciting events such as wine tastings and cooking events are also being planned!
A successful new start in Bad Kissingen
The official opening on November 2nd, 2024 was a complete success! Kirchhof reports a “really good start”: “The weather cooperated and demand in the beer garden was strong.” The first few days were promising and guests enthusiastically accepted the new menu. While the Forsthaus Klaushof is being revived, a bakery in the town has closed after more than 85 years - a sign of the changing times in Bad Kissingen. The forester's house remains a place for encounters and enjoyment, and the new tenants are ready to continue the region's culinary tradition!
