RB Leipzig breaks negative series: 2-0 victory against St. Pauli!

Leipzig, Deutschland - On the 21st matchday of the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig made an impressive 2-0 win against FC St. Pauli. After four games without a win, the team of coach Marco Rose finally showed their true face again when they defeated the Kiezkicker in the home stadium. The game developed noticeably after a slow start when the Leipzig defender Lukeba almost made an own goal in the 16th minute. But in direct return, Benjamin Sesko put the Leipziger in the lead with his goal.

Leipzig quickly took control of the game. In the 35th minute it was again Sesko who did the preparatory work for the second goal that Xavi executed. St. Pauli hardly found solutions in the first half, while the hosts continued to put pressure on.

In the second round, St. Pauli sensed his chance through the red card for the Leipzig defense chief Orban in the 69th minute. From then on, Leipzig was outnumbered, but the guests could not use their majority. Nevertheless, Leipzig was closer to the third goal again in the final minutes, while St. Pauli did not manage to score the connection goal. RB-Torwart Gulacsi kept up several times, which secured the deserved 2-0 win, as both laola1 as well as Kicker reported.

This victory is particularly important for Leipzig because it shortens the distance to the third -placed Frankfurters to just three points. St. Pauli, on the other hand, slips into 14th place in the table. Both teams are now preparing for the next encounters: Leipzig will compete near Augsburg next Friday, while St. Pauli welcomes SC Freiburg on Saturday.
