Snow warning in the Zollernalb district: fresh snow and dangerous drifts!
Red alert in the Zollernalb district! The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an urgent warning about dangerous snowdrifts. A significant amount of fresh snow fell on Friday night, and the situation could quickly worsen for drivers and pedestrians.
The warning is valid until 8 a.m. Saturday. Especially at altitudes above 600 meters, the strong winds pose a risk of dangerous drifts, which can significantly worsen road conditions. “Due to the prevailing wind conditions, snow drifts occur due to the amount of new snow,” said the DWD. The danger of slippery roads is present everywhere and citizens should be particularly careful.
Gusts of wind are threatening!
In addition to the snowdrifts, there are also warnings about strong gusts of wind. This warning affects the regions around Albstadt, Balingen and Hechingen and is valid from Friday, 11 a.m. to Saturday, midnight. The combination of wind and snow could create additional hazards that impact safety on the roads and trails.
The public is urged to monitor weather conditions and avoid unnecessary travel. Safety comes first and current weather warnings should be taken seriously!
