Drunk driving on the A8: 51-year-old stopped in snaking lines!

In the city of Sindelfingen, an incident involving a heavily drunk driver caused a stir. On Tuesday afternoon, the Ludwigsburg traffic police station stopped the 51-year-old with a high alcohol level after witnesses observed her dangerous driving.

The police were informed that a BMW was driving wildly in serpentine lines on the A8 motorway. An alert witness who saw the vehicle from the Mühlhausen junction called and alerted the authorities. At around 5:25 p.m., police officers took action to stop the dangerous driver.

Control and abnormalities

During the check at the Sommerhofen Nord rest area, the officers' suspicions were quickly confirmed. The smell of breath alcohol was unmistakable, which was confirmed by a breath alcohol test carried out with an alarming level of over 2.8 per mille. This is an extremely high value and indicates that the woman had significantly lost control of her vehicle.

The consequences for the 51-year-old were immediately noticeable. Her driver's license was confiscated and she had to undergo a blood test. Her white BMW X4 was temporarily left at the rest area while police continued to investigate the situation.

Dangerous driving and calling for witnesses

The witness reported that the driver drove in serpentine lines several times throughout the route, which led to several dangerous situations and almost accidents with other road users. This highlights not only how dangerous the driving behavior is, but also the potential danger to others on the highway.

Police have launched an appeal to find other witnesses who were endangered or harmed by the woman's driving. Affected people are asked to contact us on 0711 6869-0 or by email to stuttgart-vaihingen.vpi@polizei.bwl.de. Such calls are important in order to get the full picture of the incident and, if necessary, take legal action against the driver.

The incident alarmingly highlights the dangers posed by drunk drivers. Given the high blood alcohol level, it is hard to imagine that the woman was able to drive safely. Even if, fortunately, no serious accidents occurred in this case, the question of how to properly deal with drunk drivers remains current and essential.
