Wooden art from Thanheim: insights into the turner's workshop!
Hans-Werner Hein, a passionate wood turner from Thanheim, remains fully active even in the winter season. After an intensive time at various craft and Christmas markets, including in Rosenfeld, Degerloch and Bisingen, the Hohenzollern wood turner is now retreating to his workshops to create new pieces. “There is never a day without a workshop,” he explains with a wink. As the Schwarzwälder Bote reports, the smell of wood and the creative atmosphere in his workshop is like a second home for him.
Hein, who has already been inspired by his family and grandparents for his craftsmanship, plans to delight customers with an expanded range next spring. In his two workshops, one under the roof of his home and one in the adjacent garage, he produces artistic woodwork by hand. “Once you sniff sanding dust, you become addicted,” he explains to his visitors. As the Südwest Presse notes, Hein has proven through his participation in many markets in the past that his works of art are valued beyond borders.
