Conflicts in schools: survey shows alarming bullying problems in the Ostalbkreis
In the schools of the Ostalb district, it is boiling! A current survey of the educational compass has promoted alarming results: bullying and violence are a serious problem for many students and parents. The survey, in which 6211 readers of the Südwest Presse took part, shows that conflicts in school are omnipresent and raises the question of how well the schools prepare their students for life.
The survey results are a call to vigilance! While 35 percent of the respondents state that there are no bullying or violence problems, almost every fifth participant sees the Situation as insufficient. The average grade for evaluating bullying and violence is 3.1 - a clear sign that there is a need for action. The integration of foreign students is also viewed critically: only 17 percent of those surveyed are satisfied with the situation, while 22 percent express a very negative opinion.
teacher and their view
But how do the teachers see the situation? Your assessments are similar, but with a different focus. While 27 percent of teachers evaluate integration positively, 32 percent feel the problem of bullying and violence as a more serious than the students and parents. The teachers receive good grades from the respondents, especially with regard to their willingness to address conflicts. The average grade for your skills is 3 - a ray of hope in an otherwise worrying picture.
The survey shows that the schools in the Ostalb district face major challenges. The grades for the imparting of social values and cooperation are better, but the problems with bullying and violence as well as the integration of foreign students throw a shadow on the positive development. It remains to be seen how schools will react to these alarming results.
