The exception is two elections that are necessary due to the unscheduled departure of the incumbent mayor.

The election in Gengenbach will take place on January 26, 2025. There, a woman and four men are running to succeed Thorsten Erny, who was elected district administrator. In Willstätt, Mayor Christian Huber's term of office ends this year, which also requires an election to be held. This will take place on February 23rd, and there are already two candidates for the office: Tobias Polley and Markus Merzweiler.

Mayoral elections in Ortenau

Again Ortenau city gazette reported, the electoral period in Ortenau includes not only Gengenbach and Willstätt, but also numerous other communities. Philipp Clever will run for office in Gengenbach, which will make a new mayor necessary in Berghaupten. However, the exact election date for this has not yet been set. A date has already been set for March 16th in Haslach, where incumbent Philipp Saar will run again.

In Hausach, Wolfgang Hermann, also the incumbent, is planning to run again, although the election date has yet to be set. Richard Weith, the mayor of Oberharmersbach, is aiming for a second term in office, and there could possibly be a runoff election on October 12th. Other mayors, such as Nicolai Bischler from Steinach, have announced that they will not run again; the election date could be set in September.

Reinhard Schmälzle from Seebach also announced his departure, with an expected election date of September 28th. Helga Wössner, the mayor of Mühlenbach, would like to announce her decision by January, while Pascal Weber from Ringsheim will announce his decision on January 12th. The election dates in Oppenau and Kappelrodeck are also still up for debate and are expected to be discussed in the spring or in September or October.
