The fire brigade's emergency call center reacted quickly to the incident and alerted a variety of rescue workers. The doctor, who was the first on site, found that a total of 13 people had been injured. Four of them suffered moderate injuries, while three people were slightly injured. These seven injured people were immediately transported to surrounding hospitals. Six other participants stayed at the scene of the accident, where they received outpatient treatment from the emergency doctor. Some of them very likely experienced a shock, but they were physically unharmed.
rescue operation and traffic disruptions
It was crucial for the fire brigade to act quickly. During the entire use, they had to completely block the highway in order to be able to carry out their work without impairments. The safety precautions also included the triggering of the battery counters of a hybrid vehicle that was damaged. Several cars were no longer traveling right after the accident.
A total of ten units of the fire brigade and the emergency services were deployed, including the fire and rescue guards I and II of the professional fire brigade, as well as several rescue and emergency vehicles. The head of operations, Ltd. Urban fire director Dirk Schattka, coordinated the measures, which also included reinforcement of basic protection in the urban area. Around 50 emergency services worked to bring the situation under control and to provide the injured in a timely manner.
The effects of the accident on traffic were significant, and the access to the motorway was severely impaired over several hours. Road users had to prepare for long waiting times, since the cleanup and the investigation into the cause of the accident were in full swing. The fire brigade teams tried to clear the scene of the accident as quickly as possible, while the investigators examined the exact course of the accident.
Such incidents not only lead to injuries, but also to an increased risk to all road users on the highways. It is therefore of the highest importance to carefully observe F how the managers of traffic safety react on such emergencies. The exact cause of the rear -end collision is still unclear and requires a comprehensive examination to ensure that similar events can be avoided in the future.
