The South Korean car brand Kia has updated its often award -winning model, the KIA EV6, and not only sharpened the design features, but also optimized the technical equipment. According to OE24 , the update includes a subtle design sharpening and improvements in the 800-VOLT architecture, on-board electronics as well the peripheral technology.
The dimensions of the vehicle are 4,680 x 1,880 x 1,545 mm. The most important technical data include various engine variants with services from 170 to 650 hp and two battery capacities of 63 kWh and 84 kWh. The range can be up to 582 km, whereby the current prices are not yet known.

The increased battery capacities are particularly noteworthy: the smaller battery was raised from 58 to 63 kWh and the larger battery from 77.4 to 84 kWh. This leads to a significant extension of the range. For example, the range of the rear -driven standard range with 170 hp from 394 is improved to 428 km. The variant with 229 hp now creates up to 582 km instead of 528 km.For performance lovers, the GT variant of the EV6 offers an impressive performance of 650 hp and a maximum torque of 770 Nm. The top speed is 260 km/h, while the range remains up to 450 km.

The design of the KIA EV6 impresses with an aerodynamic silhouette, a long wheelbase and a curved roof profile. It has newly designed side skirts as well as a decorative strip and new LED rear lights in Star Map design, supported by light 19 and 20 inch rims, as described by Kia Germany
The interior inspires with a curved panorama display that includes two 12.3-inch displays, and a completely new steering wheel, which is available in different versions. A fingerprint detection system in the center console also ensures additional security.

The KIA EV6 models not only offer extensive performance, but also impressive technological features. This includes a high-voltage battery package with 84.0 kWh, which enables ultra-fast charging: from 10 % to 80 % in just 18 minutes. The V2L function allows external devices to load directly from the vehicle. According to Kia Switzerland a new EV route planner and a Meridian surround sound system with 14 speakers are also offered.
The combined power consumption is 15.9 to 17.7 kWh/100 km, while the CO2 emissions are given as 0 g/km. Energy-technical progress is also discussed: the KIA EV6 has a guarantee of seven years on its lithium-ion high-voltage batteries, which applies up to 150,000 km or seven years, depending on what occurs first.
Overall, the KIA EV6 with its extensive update once again shows that it can set standards both in terms of performance and technology.
