Government criticism: ÖVP, SPÖ and Greens in the dispute over future plans!
In a heated debate in Bundesrat , the government program of the new government coalition from ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos was presented. The federal councils expressed concerns about financial burden through measures by the "most expensive government of all time", as Andreas Arthur Spanring from the FPÖ criticized. The government accused the government of only tightening old problems and burdened by tax increases and pension cuts. In response to these allegations, representatives of the ÖVP emphasized the need for compromises and the responsibility of the government, in particular in view of current inflation and worrying economic challenges, as emphasized by Harald Himmer (ÖVP).
Matthias Zauner (ÖVP) defended government policy and agricultural-inspired programs, while the SPÖ called for budget consolidation and support for social systems in an application. According to Stefan Schennach (SPÖ), the first positive accents could be set with the rental price lid. The Greens expressed optimistic and signaled the willingness to cooperate, while at the same time they pointed out their critical role as an opposition party. Marco Schreuder (Greens) advocated a strong Europe in order to be up to the current geopolitical challenges, and emphasized the importance of transatlantic cooperation, while he made it clear that many government measures must also be viewed critically.
FPÖ and their role in the executive
The FPÖ, which is currently not part of the federal government, has a longer ประ history in the executive and in the past has several times the Vice Chancellor, as in the period from 2000 to 2005 in a coalition with the ÖVP. As fbi- Politicschule.at , the FPÖ is active in several state governments, including Lower Austria and Upper Austria, where it works with the ÖVP. The FPÖ has provided this historical anchorage in the federal states, although it is currently not represented in the federal government. The repeated reference of the freedom to a "unit party" as a whole should further fuel the political discussion about the new government.
