close technical gaps

The new strategy is no coincidence. Technical gaps in the warning system were identified that needs to be closed. The Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke emphasizes that measurable goals are defined for the first time in order to pursue the progress in adapting to climate consequences. The strategy also provides for more cooling green areas to create in cities in order to counteract the increasing heat. These measures are to be implemented in cooperation with the municipalities by 2030, whereby numerous municipalities have to develop climate adaptation concepts, as Deutschlandfunk

In addition, the federal government plans to extend the rental price brake by the end of 2029 to ensure tenant protection even after 2025. The comprehensive strategy is not only a reaction to past extreme weather events, but should also be preventive in order to protect the population as best as possible and to make the consequences of climate change transparent.
