Austria's government in turmoil: renewed engagement on April 2!
Austria's political stage is again in change! On April 2, 2025, Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler and ten other members of the new federal government are once again available for commitment to President Alexander van der Bellen. This formal ceremony is not just a chic act, but a mandatory necessity, since a legal change requires adjustments within the ministries. After the first commissioning on March 3, the National Council confirmed the new Federal Ministry Act, which officially does the changed tasks, as Kosmo reports .
The restructuring brings significant changes: Korinna Schumann, the Minister for Social and Health issues, now also takes over the department for work, which was previously located in the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Norbert Tettschnig will be responsible for agriculture, but also for climate and environmental protection- an area that was previously independent. These changes illustrate how the triple coalition from the ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos redesigns their ministerial responsibilities. Because of these restructuring, some ministers have to go back to the Hofburg, including State Secretary who have to adapt their tasks-such as the support of Babler in the field of sport-as vienna.at .
.Overall, the new government has 14 members, a large number for the second republic, and thus forms a dynamic structure that is supposed to react to the challenges of Austrian society. The next log in is eagerly awaited because it consolidates the formal changes in the previous government structure and paved the way for future political measures.
