Ehrenhöfer: New State Council of Economics and Finance of Styria!

A change in Styrian politics ensures a fresh wind: Barbara Eibinger-Miedl (ÖVP) has cleared her place as the state councilor for economy and finance in Styria to move to the federal government in Vienna, where she is now active as a state secretary in the finance ministry. The decision about her successor was made on Wednesday morning: Willibald Ehrenhöfer will be the new Business and Finance Council in Styria. His logging in is on the agenda for March 6th, as has already been reported by Orf Styria reported.

The beginnings of a new era

Ehrenhöfer, the 52-year-old Feldbacher-born, has a comprehensive professional experience. Among other things, he was a project manager at Mayr-Melnhof Holz and led the construction of new business areas there. In addition, he has also gained experience in management consultancy. In his last position, he worked as a continued director and in the management before taking on this responsible role. In the Styrian state government, his knowledge in financial and economic issues is of central importance, especially in view of the upcoming challenges.

The need for a quick replacement was also clear, since the Styrian ÖVP is under pressure after the retreat after Eibinger-Miedl's withdrawal. "The talks about the successor are in full swing," explained Manuela Khom, the managing party chairman of the Steirer-VP. Potential candidates, such as Kurt Egger, are up for debate, but the final decision is primarily made in the party committees before the public light is directed at them, such as Kurier cited khom. Fast action is essential because the current blue-black coalition has little scope for enormous changes.
