Economic crisis: Urgent reforms are missing - what now, Germany?

In the middle of the dark business forecasts for Germany, a worrying picture is emerging: The loud calls after reforms are unscathed. What the country urgently needs are unpopular decisions that are essential for a struggle for survival in the global economy. The tax burden for companies has to decrease in order to make Germany's location attractive again. But where are the uncompromising measures the nation needs to be equipped for the future?

The bitterness of the truth

A clear need for action can be seen: government expenditure must set priorities and bring savings on the table. It is about central areas such as education, infrastructure, defense and a welfare state that helps the needy instead of facing the wealthy middle class. But exactly here is the dilemma - a disputed coalition does not find the courage before the elections.

Another alarming admission: demographic change demands its toll. Without overtime, Germany will not be able to finance the growing proportion of older people. The current negative spiral could have fatal consequences for the economy and society. Where's the vision for a sustainable nation? It is high time to act!
