Headmistress distorts 80,000 euros: Elaborate lifestyle demands tributes!

In a sensational process, the Hamm district court condemned a former headmistress for infidelity. The 54-year-old woman, who led a school in the past, had misappropriated almost 80,000 euros from two school accounts over a period of more than four years. This significant amount was withdrawn 158 times, both at your place of residence in Bergkamen and Dortmund as well as during your vacation in cities such as Oldenburg and Mecklenburg. She stated that it was financing her high lifestyle with the money, which included two vacations per year in Mallorca.

Although the headmistress achieved monthly income of around 5,000 euros, this was obviously not enough funds to meet their financial needs. In addition, she also enjoyed equestrian sports, for which her money was used to a not inconsiderable extent. For expensive gifts to a man who was supposedly her riding instructor, was also reported.

judicial agreement and confession

The process was originally set to three days, with several witnesses being invited. Ultimately, however, thanks to a so -called communication between the indictment, defense and the court, these testimonies could be dispensed with. The accused finally confessed to her actions and expressed: "Everything is very difficult for me." Despite her soft voice and tears, the woman looked great under pressure because she was opposed to considerable legal consequences. The allegation was "infidelity in a particularly difficult case", which can result in a maximum prison sentence of up to 10 years.

The headmistress' situation was reported to be unfortunate, but the fact that she deliberately accessed the cash register for years had its own tragedy. Their confession and the fact that it was not a criminal record before the crime led to a milder punishment: the court imposed a prison sentence of one year and eight months, which, however, was suspended for two years. This means that she does not have to go to prison at the moment as long as she behaves in law in the next two years.

consequences for the school community

A central aspect of this affair is why the misappropriated funds did not notice earlier. The four-eye principle also applies to the school accounts. This means that the financial documents should also have been checked by the deputy headmaster. It is indicated that the headmistress acted so autocratically that there was hardly any resistance to her decisions. The fraud only noticed when a school caterer asked about the whereabouts of his payments. The city then introduced measures to avoid future incidents: teachers now have to prove every booking of school funds, and the parents are obliged to bill the money for school dinner directly with the caterer.

The financial irregularities and the infidelity of the headmistress not only affected the city of Helsar, but the entire school community. Parents and students could also be damaged because the means that were actually intended for school needs or transports were abused.

In the result, there could be a civil procedure in which the city is trying to get the misappropriated 78,000 euros. These circumstances raise questions about the future financial administration and the security check within the schools, since the confidence in the administration of a school is strongly shaken by such incidents.
