Austria's future visions shine at Expo 2025 in Osaka!
The Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, opened its goals on April 13, 2025. The world exhibition is under the motto "Designing Future Society for our Lives" and will continue until October 13, 2025. Austria is represented with an impressive pavilion that was designed under the credo "Composing the Future". The costs for the Austrian appearance amount to 21.5 million euros, with three quarters of the sum of public funds and a quarter is provided by the Chamber of Commerce. Around 160 countries, regions and international organizations take part in the Expo, which underlines their global importance.
The Austrian pavilion extends over an area of 800 square meters and was designed by BWM Designers & Architects. The Nüssli Group put the creative plans into reality. A sculptural "note band" made of wood acts as a central eye -catcher and is supposed to attract visitors. The appearance of Austria combines music with topics of innovative strength and the future, which reflects the deeply rooted creativity and the country's innovation.
focus on innovation and sustainability
In the "Innovation Lab Austria", around 90 lighthouse projects are presented that cover areas such as automotive, renewable energies, semiconductor technology, food industry, artificial intelligence, lifesciences and sustainable building. Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer emphasized the importance of tradition, culture, innovation and high -tech for the Austrian identity and the economy. The aim is to position Austria not only as a country of technology, but also as an attractive goal for tourists.
The event also has a strong economic focus, since Austria strives to network with Japan and the development of business in East Asian. In the context of global challenges, international cooperation is crucial. This cooperation in education, science and research is essential for the ability to innovate in Germany and Europe, as the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) emphasized.
international cooperation as a key
The BMBF sees international networking as a central building block in order to successfully master the increased innovation and transformation pressure. Cooperations are important to address the global challenges. The focus of the international cooperation of the BMBF includes cooperation within the European Union, with the USA and Canada as well as strategic partnerships in the Asian-Pacific area and Latin America.
In 2022, BMBF promoted international cooperation in education and research with 1.335 billion euros. A total of 2278 international projects were supported during this period, which underlines the relevance and success of such initiatives. The focus on principles such as human dignity, fundamental rights and democracy is always in the foreground in cooperation. This shows the endeavor to find solutions together in an increasingly networked world and to strengthen innovative strength, both in Europe and beyond the continents.
