Münster honors 37 schools: Warendorfer institutions for BNE!
The Münster region received an outstanding award when 37 schools and four networks were honored as part of the state program "School of the Future". This special celebration recently took place in Münster and honored the committed institutions that work for Education for Sustainable Development (BNE).
Among the excellent facilities there are also two remarkable representatives from the Warendorf district. The Mariengymnasium Warendorf was awarded for its innovative projects, including a special project in Uganda and various Erasmus+projects. These initiatives show how education can be designed not only locally, but also on a global level.
The ESD regional center Emshof in Telgte is another award winner in this category. The active integration into sustainable agriculture is demonstrated by the active integration of how Ginnhine principles are put into practice. Such programs are important because they motivate the students to deal with sustainable topics and to actively learn how they can contribute to improving their environment.
In all of North Rhine-Westphalia, there are now almost 600 schools that have been recognized as "schools of the future", supplemented by 27 networks of this kind. These figures illustrate how wide the commitment in the region is and how many schools have set themselves the task of promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. The development of these schools shows a future -oriented approach in education, which is becoming increasingly important.
The awards not only recognized the hard work of the schools, but also sets a sign that education for sustainable development should play an important role in class. In the long term, these initiatives could also help to raise awareness of sustainable practices and to form a generation that actively campaigns for the protection of the environment. After all, the construction of an environmentally conscious society is a task that affects us all and in which everyone can participate. More details on this event can be found at www.radiowaf.de
