Culture. Researchers! Networking schools: Paderborn's educational miracle in focus
An interesting development is shown in Paderborn: The Gymnasium Theodorianum and the City Museum have created a cooperation that introduces both students and teachers into the world of cultural education. This initiative was launched a few months ago when a delegation from the Theodorianum, consisting of two teachers and two students, at a network meeting of the "Culture." took part in Frankfurt. There they gained initial experiences and made valuable contacts.
This meeting served as a springboard for the first “OWL network meeting”, which took place immediately after the summer holidays in the city museum and in the Theodorianum. Representatives of the schools in Minden and wages as well as guests from the University of Bielefeld and the State Ministry of Cultural Education were also present. The aim of these meetings is the technical exchange about the development of cultural profiles at the schools involved.
strengthen cultural connections
The headmistress of the Theodorianum, Nicole Michaelis, emphasizes that the city museums and galleries in Paderborn around Dr. Andreas Neuwöhner was found by a reliable and inspiring cultural partner. In the current school half -year, a working group (AG) in close cooperation as part of the project "The children of the dead city - a music drama against forgetting" is already offered.
Before the summer holidays, pupils were allowed to take part in a bee project in the Neuhaus Natural History Museum Schloss Neuhaus, where they received helpful information from an beekeeper. These interactive programs are part of a broader strategy that aims to offer the students practical access to cultural education. The handover of the badge of the "Culture. Researcher!" At the end of September it was not only celebrated as a prelude, but rather perceived as confirmation of existing partner relationships.
cultural transfer and networking
Michaelis describes the Theodorianum as a typical example of the Weser Renaissance. Such historical sites are significant for the cultural identity of the region and are to be rediscovered and cultivated. The OWL cultural network thus offers a platform for cultural transfer and exchange of experiences, whereby the current initiative is understood as part of a living, cultural education -oriented way of life.
The developing partnership between the high school and the city museum is an example of the opportunities that can arise from regional cooperation. Further network meetings will be planned in the coming years to continue dialogue and exchange. These developments could also serve as a model in other cities for a stronger integration of cultural educational opportunities in schools.
This cooperation underlines the importance of cultural education and its influence on the development of young people. The cooperation partners make a valuable contribution to promoting creativity and cultural understanding, which is of particular relevance in today's world.
