Creativity and exchange: women*Barcamp on March 22nd in Linz

On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, 2025, the Forum Catholic Adult Education emphasizes the importance of feminist adult education. According to a broadcast, Eva-Maria Kienast, head of the woman in Linz, said that being a woman in society was still challenging, but also full of opportunities. She emphasized: "Equality does not develop on its own, it is a process that is constantly changing and developing" ( Kathpress ).

To meet these challenges, five educational institutions organize an important event on March 22, 2025 - the women*barcamp. Participants can network digitally and at various locations to discuss together, develop ideas and to strengthen each other. The event, which is under the motto "Mrs.*-is a balancing act between expectation and reality", is supported by the House of Ms. Linz, the Vienna Women's Education Initiative Anima and other regional institutions. The topics range from offer support for women to the questions of which social structures are necessary to promote the development of women ( OTS ).

The bar camp works as a "unconference", in which all participants are actively involved in the discussions. There is no permanent program, so that the ideas and questions are brought in and further developed by the women themselves. This innovative form of adult education not only offers a platform for exchange, but also enables individual and social concerns to be addressed together. The event is free of charge and is promoted by the Austrian Society for Political Education to offer important impulses for the participants and their other engagements.
