Free further training in Makerspace: Creativity meets technology in Rostock!
In Rostock, the Makerspace of the city library on October 15, 2024 offers an exciting opportunity for teachers to continue their education. Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., interested educators can take part in the training entitled "Technology and Creativity for Lessons". This course, which is organized in cooperation with the Institute for Quality Development Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (IQMV), gives teachers the opportunity to use digital technologies creatively and to integrate them into their lessons.
The Makerspace is located in Rungestraße 15 and offers an open workshop in which teachers can try modern devices such as 3D printer, laser cutter and plotter. The training is designed to present practical projects and to show how such technologies can be used in MINT lessons. The focus is on the introduction to the goals and equipment of the Makerspace, practical exercises on the devices and the planning of MINT and media education projects.
innovative teaching methods
The participants are also introduced into security -related aspects and organizational information. An essential part of the training is the exchange via best practices, which should help teachers to integrate their own experiences and ideas into class. The aim of this initiative is that the teachers can use the Makerspace independently in the future to carry out their own projects with their students.
The further training addresses teachers of all school types and disciplines that have an interest in trying out innovative teaching methods and at the same time promoting the creativity and digital competence of their students. This possibility is just right, since the need for such modern teaching approaches in today's, technology -shaped time grows steadily.
The Makerspace is not only an initiative of the Rostock city library, but also a joint project that is carried out in cooperation with various actors in child and youth work and educational institutions. The Deutsche Telekom Foundation supports the project as part of its “Comments” program, which aims to network school and extracurricular actors in Rostock and the surrounding area.
This innovative approach could not only enrich lessons, but also lay the foundation for new, creative projects that inspire students and teachers alike. Information on registration and other details is ready to make it easier for teachers to get started with the digital world of the Makerspace.
