Historical Landshut begins new phase of life in Friedrichshafen!

The Lufthansa machine "Landshut", which was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists in 1977, will be implemented to Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The aircraft, which had been retired in Brazil since 2008, is to be permanently exhibited in a hall at Friedrichshafen Airport from the end of 2026, as the Federal Center for Political Education announced. The route that the machine will cover is around 450 meters.

The "Landshut" was brought into force on October 13, 1977 with 82 passengers and five crew members of terrorists. The dramatic use of the GSG9, which led to the liberation of the hostages, is unforgettable. After its retirement in 2008, the Bundestag budget committee is now raising 15 million euros for the new exhibition. The "Landshut" had officially flown until 1985 and will now be partly alive in German history, which is to be kept in Friedrichshafen. More information can be found on www.swp.de .
