Haimbuchner: ÖVP has to accept fair cooperation offer!

Manfred Haimbuchner, the deputy governor of Upper Austria and FPÖ state party chairman, has made the ÖVP a fair offer to jointly steer a positive course for Austria. Haimbuchner emphasizes that the ÖVP should take on essential skills such as economy, energy, transport, and education to ensure functioning cooperation. In his declaration, however, he criticized the additional claims of the ÖVP according to the Ministry of the Interior, which were difficult to understand against the background of the extensive offer. "Honest governing also means making a fair offer," added Haimbuchner. "Herbert Kickl has made the ÖVP a more than fair offer that is now on the table - no side can rule alone," said ots.at in his report.

economic policy challenges

In another discussion, Haimbuchner recently pointed out the difficult financial situation of Austria. With a budget deficit of 15.4 billion euros, which is more than 7 billion more than in the previous year, the EU Maastricht criteria are in danger. The deficit exceeds the permitted limit of three percent of the gross domestic product (GDP). Haimbuchner criticizes the Federal Government for having hidden the actual budget situation before the election. "In Vienna, the money is thrown out the window," he said in relation to expenses such as the climate monus, which in his opinion should be abolished. In addition, the CO2 tax also belongs to the test, reported News.at

Haimbuchner believes that Austria has fallen into a “part-time republic”, which endangers productivity and competitiveness. In this context, he calls for structural reforms, including a reduction in bureaucracy and non-wage costs, to relieve companies and promote investments in the location. The deputy governor warns that the high government expenditure, which currently make up 52.7 percent of GDP, are closer to socialism than in capitalism and is in favor of returning to more market economy. These and other reform proposals are intended to help combat the rising deficit and to secure Austria's economic foundations.
