Digital future for children: Start of the Kita.digital” campaign in Freising!

An exciting starting signal for the digital future of the little ones! The fourth qualification campaign “Startskanz Kita.digital” was launched in the Freising district office. In close cooperation with the Department of Day Care facilities and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Work and Social Affairs, day care centers from Freising, Dachau and Erding take part in this groundbreaking initiative. The aim is to actively support the children's cribs, kindergartens, houses for children and hoarding in Bavaria on their way into the digital education world.

The “Kita.digital” campaign offers the participating institutions the opportunity to take decisive steps in digital education. Experienced coaches are supported by the facilities for a whole year to support them in implementing the statutory educational mandate for media literacy. The focus is on promoting a critical and creative understanding of media. Children should learn to use digital media as tools for their own ideas and projects and to understand themselves as active actors in digital space.

The opening event in the district office Freising offered the participants the opportunity to get to know their coaches and exchange ideas about the next steps. Adina Leeb and Daniela Mertl from the Department of Day Care facilities emphasized the importance of the campaign: "It is important to us to prepare the children in the district as best as possible for the digital world and to offer the specialists in the facilities the necessary support." With "Kita.digital" the foundation for future -oriented media education in the early childhood area is laid - a decisive investment in the competencies of the youngest who can actively shape digital change.
