Germans in the health ranking: the leader of the EU!
Waiblingen, Deutschland - The use of health services in Germany is above average in European comparison. According to a comprehensive study published by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) as part of the European Health Interview Survey, the German medical offers are much more common than the EU average. This affects both general practitioner and specialized services and is particularly strong in women and older people, such as ZVW reports.
It is particularly noticeable that the use of psychiatric and psychotherapeutic services as well as over -the -counter drugs in young adults is above average. At the same time, however, the diseased Germans see their health more positively than the average in other EU countries. Diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes occur more frequently in Germany, as the RKI found. These surveys offer valuable information for health policy and can help to develop strategies to improve equal opportunities, according to the RKI in its publication.Different use depending on education and gender
The results show that not only gender, but also the degree of education has an impact on the use of health services. Specialist and dental treatments are more used by people with higher education, while citizens with a lower level of education require more often psychiatric and psychotherapeutic and inpatient services. This information underlines the relevance of education for access to and the use of health services, which is also confirmed in the data of the European Health Interview Survey, such as RKI analyzed.
