Burgenland's children experience football with a new mini-arena and reading pleasure!
The Burgenland Football Association (BFV) has emerged with an innovative project: it is the first national association to introduce the "mini-arena". These mobile soccer fields, equipped with removable gangs and gates, enable easy assembly and dismantling and, above all, should benefit young talents under the age of ten. "The benefit for the children is that they bring more activity into play through the gang system," says Dietmar Heger, the sporting director of the BFV, and emphasizes that older children can also benefit from it. The association is considering financial support for clubs who want to buy such an arena, since in practice they are often perceived as too expensive, as reports.

parallel to developments in football, Burgenland also took a significant step in the field of education. As part of the “Reading-Comprehension” project, the popular children's book author Thomas Brezina published a book entitled “The Flying Castle”. The story is aimed at children between the ages of five and ten and was introduced to the Weiden am See elementary school, where the first copies were distributed to the students. Education Councilor Daniela Winkler emphasizes that up to 40,000 books should be distributed by the 2027/2028 school year to promote children's reading skills href = "https://www.bildung-bgld.gv.at/news-presse/detail/article/die-fliegende-burg"> Education-bgld.gv.at .
The story follows five extraordinary animals that live in a castle, and each book is matched to a certain age group. With its history, Brezina wants to awaken the children's reading fuss and bring them closer to the beauty of their homeland. "Reading should be an adventure in which you can immerse yourself," notes Brezina and emphasizes that the books are interactively designed so that readers are actively part of the action. In addition, attention is paid to high quality and regional added value in the production of the books, which connects to the tradition of Burgenland. These initiatives represent clear progress in the areas of education and sport and show the commitment of the region for the promotion of youth.
