New motorhome parking space in Bayrischzell: rules for skiers and camper!

The new motorhome parking space at the Schwebelift in Bayrischzell has issued its usage regulations that do not allow permanent campers. As Merkur Seeberg demolished for the construction of the new Explorer Hotel, so that the vacationers can now use this new parking space. The municipal council, led by Mayor Georg Kittenrainer (CSU), decided in a meeting the new terms of use, which prescribe that only motorhomes used for tourism may be parked, with a maximum length of stay of seven days. Cars and buses have no access there to secure the space for camping visitors.

In the discussion about these new regulations, it turned out that the parking space also serves skiers in winter that arrive with their own vehicles. Vice Mayor Egid Stadler noticed that confusion has already occurred about the permissible vehicles. The statutes only allow motorhomes, although no immediate measures are to be expected if a caravan is parked, as Kittenrainer explained. Experience from the past shows that even in the high season there are no more than five motorhomes at the same time, which keeps the burden on the new parking space in a reasonable framework.

conversion work and access restrictions

In addition, the bridge over the Aubach on Seebergstrasse will be canceled from October 14, 2024, as the municipality of Bayrischzell informed. During the construction work, which is expected to last until spring 2025, access to parking spaces and leisure facilities will be significantly restricted. Road users have to drive via a detour route that is not appropriate for larger trucks. The motorhome parking space on Seeberg also remains closed during the construction work and is no longer open. The new parking space at the Schwebelift valley station still requires the last work before the opening will be announced in the coming weeks. Visitors should therefore keep an eye on the current developments to avoid problems when parking.
