renovation of the Cologne stages
In Cologne, the situation of the city stages remains tense at Offenbachplatz. As reported by the Rundschau, the costs for the renovation have risen to almost 800 million euros and the citizens are still waiting for a new opening date. Over 200 craftsmen work in the various disciplines every day, including drywallers and painters to promote the work. But the city admits that the construction site causes between 2.5 and 3 million euros in overhead costs - this corresponds to around 90,000 euros per day without the actual construction costs being included.
Currently working on the optimization of the processes is being worked on to continue to minimize delays. A construction stop requested by the SPD was dismissed as populism. The city explains that despite the difficulties, progress continues to be documented. The operation with various trades is underway, whereby previously completed areas must be processed again due to defects and fire protection requirements. The additional costs and long delays raise questions about the efficiency of the construction and present those responsible for great challenges.
