Fool storm on the town hall: Pirmasens celebrates with mulled wine and music!

On Saturday there was a colorful spectacle in front of the old town hall in Pirmasens when the fools of the Carneval Association Pirmasens (CVP) stormed the town hall at 11.11 a.m. Despite the cold temperatures, the event was accompanied by a good atmosphere on the lower castle. Visitors could be pampered with party music, mulled wine and children's punch.

The pageant of the CVP started at the former Babilon toy shop and led to the old town hall. The train was led by the fanfare and marching band, accompanied by the Pirmasens Grenadieren and guest clubs. While the fools stormed the town hall, Mayor Michael Maas observed the scenery from the inside.

CVP treasurer Norbert Fremgen gave the signal for the storm, which was accompanied by firecrackers and calls of the assembled fools. As part of the celebrations, two employees handed over the city treasury to the children's princess Aliah I. Mayor Maas informed those present that a significant part of 294 million euros that the city received from the state had already been issued. He also spoke of a "small money tree" in the city treasury that needs care.

The city of Pirmasens plans to align the state garden show in 2032. In the course of the storm, the CVP princesses Jeanette I and Aliah I called various tasks from Mayor Markus Zwick and Mayor Maas. This included running in costumes on moves and grilling for the traditional battle festival. The princesses also expressed the desire for a remote control for the traffic lights to enable the fools a "green wave".

After the proclamation, the princesses invited to the landgraving hall of the old town hall, where pretzels and drinks were served. In addition, the club's national guard dancers performed with a small program.

Mayor Michael Maas has been in office since July 1st, 2019 and is responsible for various areas, including the environment and construction. He is also actively involved in urban development and is the chairman of several supervisory boards who deal with urban development and energy supply. Maas strives to cope with the old debt problem with the support of the federal and state governments and value the renovation of public buildings and streets, despite the prevailing financial challenges.
