Jarmen is planning a new business park: investors show great interest!

In the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, the city of Jarmen plans to develop a new business park in the immediate vicinity of the A 20 Autobahn. This initiative already attracts a lot of interest from several investors and companies, such as ndr.de reported.

The mayor of Jarmen, André Werner, who belongs to the Free Voting Association, emphasized that negotiations with logistics companies working across Germany are currently taking place and with local companies that want to expand. A large supermarket chain is also planning to build a new branch on the state road.

Current status of the planning

The second round of participation for public authorities is currently running, including nature conservation authorities. The aim of the city is to convert arable land into a commercial area. Mayor Werner hopes for a quick conclusion of the procedure for creating construction law. The planned measures include the construction of an access road and the relocation of supply lines.

The city of Jarmen invested over 200,000 euros in the space of a former allotment garden in 2024. This area was the largest gardening in the village until the end of 2022 and is now the focus of the industrial area development.

In addition, the city council of Jarmen has made three installation and publication decisions for the new business park, whereby the planned area is supposed to be between the L 35 and the A 20, southwest of the existing industrial area. This existing area already includes infrastructure such as a gas station, a freight forwarder and a Hermes distribution center.

special features and challenges

Some delays in the procedure were due to adjustments to the previous development plan and property issues. The mayor described the overall package as a win-win situation for the municipality, since the transport connection for the new industrial area was adjusted accordingly.

A special feature of the new B-Plan No. 20 is that the rear third is shown as a special area of use for photovoltaics. In order to enable commercial settlement, the municipality must also adapt the land use plan. The dismantling of the former allotment gardens is currently being carried out, and an demolition company has already demolished all buildings and removed pollutants. The site should be planned by April 2024 at the latest, as nordkurier.de
