The construction of a new transformer station in Weidengasse is seen as a crucial step in order to meet the requirements through modern technologies such as photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and electric charging stations, explained Josef Brückelmayer, head of the service center NÖ Tulln, during the announcement this. In order to meet the Austrian climate and energy strategies by 2030, the Network Lower Austria is planning the new building and renewal of around 40 substances and the annual addition of approx. 700 transformer stations.

In an impressive trend, the NÖ NÖ NEW will report an increase of more than 6,200 new photovoltaic systems in the first quarter of 2024. This development is part of a greater growth in which over 104,600 PV systems in Lower Austria feed into the network. The state of Lower Austria also plays a central role here, since around 25 % of all Austrian solar power plants are located here, such as Netz reports.

A trend towards optimizing the self -consumption of the solar energy that is produced is becoming increasingly clear. Networks and operators analyze studies data for smaller, more efficient systems, while the network Lower Austria is investing more than 450 million euros in the expansion of the infrastructure in this financial year - a clear sign that the future of use of energy in Austria is in full swing and that the challenges must be managed through innovative solutions.
