In addition to the efforts around the traffic lights, a “manual for the assessment of traffic safety from streets” is being used in Germany, which is intended to support quality assurance in the road design. Developed by a project group of the Federal Agency for Roads (BAST), the manual will continue to advise on an ad hoc committee of the Research Society for Road and Transport (FGSV). The aim is to optimize the safety of road traffic plants and planners as well as security auditors to provide valuable information in order to evaluate traffic accidents and carry out security analyzes.
