KTM before the end: renovation plan decides on the future!

In the middle of the uncertainties about the bankruptcy of the motorcycle manufacturer KTM, there are urgent developments. The renovation recipient Peter Vogl warns that the rejection of the current renovation plan could lead to bankruptcy and massive destruction of the company. To avert this, KTM will need around 600 million euros by the end of May, which are to be raised by a combination of existing owners, new investors and banks. Around 20 potential offers are currently assumed. Among the interested parties are Stephan Zöchling, the new supervisory board head of the KTM mother Pierer Mobility, as well as partners such as Bajaj from India and CF Moto from China, such as reported.

KTM has now revised its offer to the creditors and promises a faster payment of the promised 30 percent of the quota until April 15, instead of over two years. This is done in response to the criticism of the banks, which had requested a higher quota. However, the US hedge fund WhiteBox insists on an alternative solution that, according to Vogl, cannot be implemented legally. A failure of the renovation plan could result in a quota of only about 15 percent for creditors. The vote on the renovation plan will take place on February 25, and the financing for the resumption of production in Mattighofen should be secured by the end of the month, as the The press

Despite the optimistic signals, the complete rescue of KTM remains unsafe. At the moment, the company still has around 4,400 employees after several waves of termination, while the situation could decide in the coming weeks whether these jobs are preserved or are again very threatened. The challenges are so concrete because a failed renovation would not only mean financial consequences, but also considerable personal loss for the employees.
