Lukas Simoner returns: On to new heights with the Pirates!

Lukas Simoner returns to the Wörthersee Pirates and sets his basketball career on a new, exciting path. After four successful years at UBSC Graz, where he acted as captain and top performer, the 25-year-old Carinthian found that the situation in Graz was no longer ideal for him. “The Pirates are now offering me the opportunity to have fun with basketball again and to be able to take on a bigger role on the court again,” explains Simoner, who was already active for the Pirates as a young player. How laola1.at reported that Simoner is very happy about returning to his home club.

The Wörthersee Pirates, who have had an excellent season so far with ten wins from eleven games and are considered title candidates, see Simoner's return as a significant reinforcement. “In any case, we are very happy that Lukas is wearing the Pirates jersey again and hope for a strong further season with him,” says coach Andreas Kuttnig optimistically. Simoner himself brings a lot of experience with him, having already played at national level for the Austrian men's national team and the U23 team. He has clearly communicated that he believes that his style of play can help the team get further than last year's semi-finals, reports pirates.net.

Integration into the existing team seems to go smoothly due to the existing community and previous acquaintances. “I was received very well in the first training sessions,” says Simoner expectantly. The Pirates anticipate some “growth issues” but are willing to accept them to achieve maximum performance potential. With Simoner on board, the Pirates could be headed to new heights this season.
