The ÖRV athletes were once again able to show a strong performance on the 200 meter longer track in Igls, just like in previous years. For Madeleine Egle, who is facing a possible ban for over a year due to missing three doping tests, this was a significant success that was also mentally encouraging. In an interview, Egle said: "After all the preparation, I really didn't think it would work again in Innsbruck. It's really cool that the speed is back." With this victory she celebrated her 13th World Cup victory and her fifth in Igls.
Strong performance by the Austrian toboggan teams
The double-seater team Egle/Kipp triumphed after 1:33.499 minutes, relegating the Germans Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal to second place by 0.351 seconds. Selina Egle noted that her nerves remained stable and felt proficient on the upper turns. Her partner Kipp, who had her back treated between runs, was also happy about the renewal and was optimistic that the new doubles start would bring further benefits. Thomas Steu and Wolfgang Kindl secured third place in the men's doubles after a mistake, while the other targeted teams had difficulty asserting themselves against the best pilots ORF Tirol reported.
