East Tyrolean fire brigade shines: 70 members exist radio!

Last weekend, from February 21 to 23, 2025, the excitement among the East Tyrolean fire brigade members was great when around 70 fire brigade members in Telfs took part in a challenging competition for the radio service badge in bronze and silver. A total of 273 participants competed: inside, in order to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of radio communication. It was particularly noteworthy that there was also a competition in silver for the first time, in which 139 participants showed: inside. Anyone who wanted to receive the award had to complete various stations, including knowledge knowledge and the transmission of a message. These challenges were masterfully mastered, and 44 applicants from the district of Lienz obtained the badge in bronze, while 26 Florianis proudly received the silver badge. This enabled the “white flag” to be hoisted in East Tyrol, a sign of the successful completion of the competition, as Dolomitenstadt reported.

The competition was made up of five exciting stations: from device science to the creation and transmission of a message to an assignment in radio. The candidates not only had to shine in theory, but also to demonstrate practical skills. A special focus was on the correct handling of the radio devices and compliance with the Tyrolean radio order. The participants had to apply theoretical knowledge to correctly pass on news and the reports that had previously been accepted, and to cope with a radio use in the Florianstation. The Jenbach fire brigade was also represented: LM Mario Valorzi successfully acquired the bronze badge and BM Emanuel Hanser the silver badge.
