Solidarity in East Tyrol: 4,115 euros donated for Healthy into Life”!

The ceremonial check handover took place in the Nußdorf-Debant residential and nursing home on October 20, 2025. On this occasion, an amount of 4,115.40 euros was handed over to the “Gesund ins Leben” association, which supports expectant and young parents in difficult life situations. This amount comes from the proceeds of the first ball of the East Tyrolean residential and nursing homes, which took place on January 18, 2025 in the Debant cultural hall. The event was held under the motto “Time to make a difference” and was attended by numerous employees, relatives and interested parties, which demonstrated the great solidarity within the community.

The ball was a successful event that offered music, dancing and entertainment. The atmosphere was fueled by the band “Jungfidelen”, while the “Lachwurzn” provided additional joy with an entertaining midnight performance. Isa’s Kropfenmocherei spoiled the guests with special culinary delights. The initiative to organize the ball arose from a conversation between Anna Maria Klaunzer, the nursing service manager of the residential and nursing home, and Martin Strasser, the works council chairman. They were supported by a committed ball committee, which also included other members, and Mayor Andreas Pfurner gave his commitment to support.

Donate to support network

The “Gesund ins Leben” association helps around 35 families in East Tyrol and around 450 families throughout Tyrol every year by offering free and unbureaucratic support for pregnant women and parents with children aged 0 to 3 in stressful life situations. Various representatives of the association and the care facility took part in the check presentation, including Sandra Aufhammer, the state manager of “Gesund ins Leben”, as well as several nursing assistants from the residential and nursing home. Angelika Heichlinger, a family companion, was also present and emphasized the importance of supporting families during difficult times.

The income from the ball should remain in the region and serve the positive development of the social network. This initiative was highlighted by the members of the ball committee as an important step to promote appreciation for togetherness and solidarity and to strengthen the sense of community.

Health aspects

While the event was a complete success and the funds raised will benefit many families, it is also a reminder of the importance of keeping health in mind. Regular doctor visits, which often include blood and urine tests, are essential, especially for prospective parents, to monitor any adverse effects of medications or treatments. Certain medications, such as naproxen, are known to pose health risks, including an increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with long-term use. Pregnant women should be particularly careful as some medicines can pose a risk to the unborn child. It is therefore important to speak to a doctor before and during pregnancy and to disclose any medications you are taking.

The ball of the East Tyrolean residential and nursing homes not only made a financial contribution, but also increased awareness of solidarity in the community. He was an example of how togetherness and support can succeed in difficult times.
