Vienna Refugee Ball: A Feast of Cultures and Solidarity on April 5!
Lichtenfelsgasse 2, 1010 Wien, Österreich - in Vienna will be celebrated on April 5, 2025, the 31st Vienna Refugee Ball, an indispensable event that has stood for integration and peaceful coexistence since 1995. The integration house, which invites you to this occasion, describes the ball as a strong sign of humanity at a time when refugee people are increasingly exposed to social and legal pressure. "Long waiting times for asylum decisions and social cuts withdraw the perspective for many," warned the managing directors Susanne Lettner and Martin Wurzenrainer of the Integration House. But the refugee ball shows that integration is possible and celebrates the variety that enriches our society. According to the Integrationhaus the evening could be a musical dream trip around the world, featuring gypsy swing, Balkan rhythms and Congolese rumba.
a festival full of music and solidarity
With a varied music program on two stages and an open-air disco, the ball promises to become a night full of joie de vivre and cohesion. The ‘Gewürztraminer’ and the ‘Nadara Transylvanian Gypsy Band’ can be found among the artists. In addition, the Willi Resetaritis Prize is awarded for the second time that goes to musicians who are strong for integration. This award, endowed with € 10,000, is presented by City Councilor Verena Kaup-Hasler and the first award winner, Vusa Mkhaya, what underlines the importance of this event.
Every dress code is welcome, this shows the openness and hospitality that prevails at the refugee ball. "Because it is going" - a motto that not only applies to the ball, but also for the values of the integration house: a lived solidarity with each other.
The integration house serves as a competence center for the recording and integration of refugees in Vienna, offers accommodation, education and advice - especially for particularly affected groups such as traumatized persons and unaccompanied minors. It is committed monthly with around 170 employees and volunteers to ensure sustainable and fair integration. The refugee ball is not only a social highlight, but also well -founded support for the important work of the Integration House .
