Lynch, known for masterpieces such as "Mulholland Drive", "Blue Velvet" and the cult series "Twin Peaks", has been fighting for several years. In 2020, he was diagnosed with a pulmonary emphysema, a serious illness that significantly impaired his quality of life. He could only leave his home with an oxygen mask, which made his creative work extremely difficult.
