Strong voices for Vienna: Youth Advisory Board strengthens the participation of young people!
Wien, Österreich - In March 2025, the youth council of the Vienna (Kija) children's and youth lawyers was launched to give young people a strong voice. According to the Kija, the youth council is a fundamentally important facility that enables young people to actively participate in decisions that affect them. Sebastian Öhner, the children's and youth lawyer, emphasized that it is important that young people can have a say in bringing their perspectives and ideas into the work of the lawyer. This co -determination not only promotes personal commitment, but strengthens social responsibility among young people.
The youth advisory board currently consists of 15 committed young people and young adults who are already planning a wide range of projects. This includes the development of position papers, the creation of a podcast to increase the awareness of the Kija and workshops, in which young people are trained as multipliers of children's rights. The youth council wants to continue to hear further votes in the future and will obtain feedback from other young people on the platform www.mitmalten.gv.at from other young people on current topics to ensure a broad and representative participation, as is reported on arnstadt.de
commitment and political participation
In Germany, similar initiatives are established, such as the children's and youth council of the city of Arnstadt, in which young people actively participate in local political decision-making processes. These bodies, which consist of elected representatives of the young population, have the right to speak in the city council and bring in applications. The Arnstadt youth advisory board has focused on important topics such as the establishment of a youth café, environmental protection and cultural projects in the theater. This ensures that the concerns and needs of children and adolescents are heard and incorporate into the decision -making processes of the city administration.
The aim of these committees is to promote young people's commitment and give them the opportunity to bring their rights to the fore. These platforms, both in Vienna and Arnstadt, offer valuable opportunities for personal development and active participation of the future. Information about participation in the Arnstadt children's and youth advisory board can be obtained via the official channels, as can be read on the website arnstadt.de
