On June 6, 2025, a serious industrial accident occurred in Hintertux, Tyrol, in which a 25-year-old worker was injured. During maintenance work on the “feeding system”, the young man checked the “limit switch” in the “station” and gave instructions to raise the system. He was accompanied by two other workers, a 29-year-old and a 34-year-old, who were nearby and made eye contact with the 25-year-old. At a critical moment, the 25-year-old suddenly shouted “STOP”, whereupon the 34-year-old immediately activated the “emergency stop” and aborted the process. Rescue and first aid
His two colleagues and other employees did everything they could to free the trapped man. The mountain rescue service and the Tux fire department were alerted and, after providing first aid, they were able to abseil the 25-year-old from a height of around six meters. The police and a rescue helicopter were also on duty, which flew the injured person to the clinic in Innsbruck for further treatment.
